8 February 2010
Remember tour closing date 31st March 2010.

This is the year of our National Tour. As of today you have just eight weeks to the closing date. We have 125 vehicles entered so far. Tasmania 1, Queensland 3, NSW 52, Victoria 20 and Sth Aust 55. If you haven’t sent the photo of your vehicle please do so now, so that it can be included in the Tour Magazine. If you would like to check on the other vehicles entered so far, go to our “Photo Album” page on this web site.

We have a very busy and hard working committee putting together a great program for you. All venues have been booked, daily runs have been organized as morning activities which visit many Riverland attractions, thus allowing for most afternoons free. Most evenings will have entertainment provided and evening meals will also be available at our Tour Headquarters. Details of trips, meals (including evening meals), and apparel will be sent to all participants in early to mid April 2010.

Late entries may be considered after closing date of 31st March 2010 subject to consideration of Tour Directors. Note: Tour Plaque and accommodation bookings may not be available after closing date and full entry fee will still apply.

April 2008

Since our initial meeting and election of Rally Officers in April 2007 a considerable amount of work has been done in preparation for the rally.
As we have been dealing only with individual committee members we thought that this would be an appropriate time to bring everybody up to date.
RENMARK has been selected as the Rally Venue. Meetings have taken place between the Rally Directors, Council, Traders Group, and Accommodation Venues.
Sites for the display day and daily activities start point have been selected and are subject to council approval. The venue for the Presentation Dinner has been booked. One venue has been booked for an evening of entertainment and other venues for the nightly entertainment are currently being considered. The Rally bank account has been established. Meetings have been held with Accommodation, Catering, Daily Runs and Merchandise co-coordinators. Accommodation has been booked. Daily activities are in the planning stage. Merchandise requirements and suppliers are being investigated. Entertainment contacts are being sought.
Rally Directors will contact Prospective Major Sponsors mid 2008 and a package is being put together for this purpose. Ashley Farrow has offered to take on the position of Sponsorship Officer. We invite all club members to assist him in this task. PLEASE pass on any ideas to him. Lindsay Gibb has agreed to coordinate the Display Day. If you have any comments or ideas please pass them on to any of the Rally committee.

April 2007
Now you might say, what are they talking about, 2010. Well yes that’s right. In 2010 it will be South Australia’s turn to host the National Chrysler RestorersClub of Australia Rally. I remember years ago when Ross Bryant suggested we go to Tasmania on a Rally in 3 years, everyone said that’s too far off, but before we knew it, about 25 vehicles were on the Boat to Tassie, to one of the best rallies we have attended. At our March Meeting we agreed to take the position as “Tour Directors”. We needed to get things off the ground, by at least finding out if anyone wanted to help us.
We decided to have a get together with the people who had offered their help from the replies that were sent back to the club. At this meeting we elected a committee and talked about venues. The agreed place was the Riverland. More work needsto be done to confirm that this is possible. ie large enough venues and accommodation, for 300 to 400 people. The Rally Committee elected at that meeting is:
Secretary - Gail DuBois
Treasurer - Graham McRae
Asst Treasurer - David Crichton
Accommodation - Noel & Rae Cowie
Catering - Judy Hart
Public Relations - Mark Hallett
PR Assistant - Andrew Norton
MC & Entertainment - Ross Fleming
Daily Runs - Garry & Rhonda Williams
Printing & Web - Richard Tapp
Merchandise - Neill & Joan Wormald
Many other people have listed their name to help as time progresses, as there will much to do. The Sponsor Coordinators Position is still to be filled. This doesn’t mean to sponsor but to find sponsors as a rally of this size takes a large amount of money. So if you would like to help in this field or have any ideas please contact us. WE NEED YOUR HELP 2010 is just around the corner.
